I'm assuming this is some kind of software glitch, because this behavior is super dysfunctional. If it's a short document, the issue isn't too bad, but for long, collaborative texts where I need to edit a lot of comments I often resort to using a different computer with an older version of MS word. If I scroll away to a different page of text and then scroll back, the comment text will disappear. Text will appear in-line with the regular text of the document (not off to the side like a normal comment). On occasion, especially for word documents with a lot of comments, clicking on a comment in the navigation pane will jump me to a random part of the document, and my comment Shows up in the righthand side of the screen) doesn't update until I'm done editing. I can usually edit comment text in the navigation pane, but the text in the in-line comment (i.e., in the comment bubble that Text, the navigation bar will automatically pop up on the lefthand side, and I'm unable to actually click into the comment itself. When I double click on a comment to edit the text (the same way I would in other versions of MS word), instead of having the flashing cursor appear to let me edit the Click the preferred option (you can change them at any time), and you’re ready to add comments.I've had an issue with comments for a while in microsoft word 16 for mac from office 365.
